- BY MONICA CHARSLEY

“BIKER King” Sonny Barger has died of cancer, leaving his notorious Hells Angels legacy behind.

The biker club founder, from California, lost his fight with the disease at the age of 83 yesterday.

A statement on his Facebook page read: “If you are reading this message, you’ll know that I’m gone. I’ve asked this note be posted after my passing.

“I’ve lived a long and good life filled with adventure. And I’ve had the privilege to be part of an amazing club.”

He was widely known for starting the Oakland Hells Angels and is regularly cited for building the gang into an international body.

Barger was sentenced to 10 years in jail in 1973 after he was found in possession of drugs and a weapon.
