A MISSING LUGGAGE MOUNTAIN

Passenger slams airport over lost case

A MUM whose bag went missing at Edinburgh Airport claims she saw thousands of cases abandoned there.

Margaret Brennan, 54, boarded a British Airways flight to London City last Friday for a work event.

But when she landed, she discovered her case had failed to follow her.

The mum of two claims she was told her bag would be sent by Saturday to her accommodation.

But she had to buy new clothes and make-up when it didn’t arrive.

Margaret claims when she flew home on Sunday, she was greeted by a mountain of suitcases. She says she fears “sentimental items” in the case may be lost as by yesterday it had not been returned.

Complaints handler Margaret, from Callander, Stirlingshire, said: “When we came back through on Sunday night, there were bags everywhere – loads of suitcases in a corridor.

“No one was watching them and someone could easily have come along and stolen them.

“We were going down for three events in London so it’ll cost about £3000 to replace the contents.

“I’d also spent a fortune on clothes but instead of wearing the outfit I’d planned, I had to buy a cheap jumpsuit and some Primark sandals.”

Edinburgh Airport said it was a matter for baggage handlers Menzies Aviation, which blamed problems on “staff shortage and supply chain issues affecting the entire aviation industry”.

Menzies added: “We are working hard to ensure passengers are reunited with their bags.”

British Airways said: “We apologise for the delay.”
