Man denies Arthur’s Seat wife murder
A MAN will stand trial accused of murdering his pregnant wife by pushing her off a hill.
Kashif Anwar, 28, pleaded not guilty to killing Fawziyah Javed, 31, at Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh on September 2, 2021.
The charge states he “pushed her from height and caused her to fall”.
The allegations also state that, as a consequence, Anwar caused the death of her unborn child.
Anwar denies a second charge of threatening or abusive behaviour towards her the previous day at a hotel in Edinburgh.
At the High Court in Glasgow yesterday, a trial was fixed for the end of March next year.
