Posh school Sir raped me I was a child
Woman tells of sex attack on camping trip
A WOMAN has told how she was raped as a girl by a teacher at the tough Scottish school where Prince Charles was educated.
The former pupil at Gordonstoun said she was attacked by the “cool” teacher on a Highland camping trip.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, attended the school after winning a scholarship – but reveals she was targeted after having rum poured in her coffee.
She told today’s BBC Radio 4 documentary In Dark Corners: “He was a family friend of the headmaster. He was fun and we all thought he was cool. On the first night, he had a bottle of rum which he was putting into our coffee after dinner.
“A few of us were slightly drunk, we were all 12 or 13. In the middle of the night, he started to touch me.
“After that, he sexually assaulted me.” Although she was bullied by other pupils who knew about the attack, she said the Moray school did “absolutely nothing”. Years later, Grampian cop DC Allan Milton investigated two allegations of rape against the teacher. He found documents which showed the school was aware of the attacks.
The teacher is now living in an English city after a criminal prosecution in Scotland collapsed.
A spokesperson for Gordonstoun told the BBC it was unable to comment.
Another victim of abuse at the school describes in the programme how a teacher drugged him and took pictures when he was unable to move. Derek Jones, who ran a photography club at Gordonstoun, would have a camera with him during pupils’ shower time.
Charges were dropped when parents decided not to put their son through the ordeal of a trial.
But the boy’s mother said: “It leaves a scar that lasts forever.”
Jones went on to work in a school in Essex before he died.
