HAALAND A HITWITHFANS
ERLING HAALAND wooed Manchester City fans with a good-natured jibe at rivals United yesterday – then insisted he has moved to the Etihad for keeps.
The Norway star, 21, made City his fifth club in five years, in a £51million move from Borussia Dortmund.
Reports in Spain claim Haaland – who charmed thousands of fans who turned out to meet him – may end up in La Liga one day.
But asked about his long-term future at the club, he said: “At least five years. I’ve signed a five-year deal, so we have to start with that.”
And asked which game he was most looking forward to, the striker’s joking answer brought roars of approval. Haaland said: “I don’t like to say the words – but Manchester United.”
The striker joins his new team-mates for pre-season training today before City fly to the States for a two-game tour.
