BUCKIE ........... 1 ROSS COUNTY...1 COUNTY WIN 5-3 ON PENS

DOMINIC SAMUEL is targeting goals this season after netting Ross County’s equaliser against Highland League side Buckie Thistle.

The strike earned a penalty shoot-out that County won 5-3.

Former Blackburn attacker Samuel said: “I’ll use any opportunity to work my way into the line-up for this season and score goals whether that’s a friendly, the cup, or the league, as a striker you want to score goals every game no matter how.

“Last season, it took me a while to transition into Scottish football, especially coming up from England, you need to toughen up in Scotland as the football isn’t as pretty but you need to adapt quickly in football and I was learning all the time last season.”

Buckie took the lead on 53 minutes when Sam Urquhart stabbed home from 12 yards but sub Samuel hit back just after the hour mark when he fired past Balint Demus.

Jordy Hiwula netted first in the shoot out for the visitors before Ross Munro saved from Marcus Goodall with Kazeem Olaigbe, Samuel, David Cancola, and Ross Callaghan all scoring to give Country an extra point.
