MOTA’S TOP SPEED

- GARRY OWEN

MOTASHAWEQ (6.47) looks a safe bet for thriving Iain Jardine on G4 Claims Racenight at Hamilton.

The sprinter decisively defeated Alfred Cove on debut for the Dumfries handler over track and trip. The threeyear-old scored with plenty in hand so he can bag a strong contest on his handicap bow.

REGAL WORLD (5.47) can reign for in-form Tim Easterby in the opening apprentices’ event. The three-year-old improved again when second to Doomsday over seven furlongs at Catterick. The gelding was staying on strongly late so he can see off some exposed rivals back at a mile.

The Yorkshire ace can also bag the competitive G4 Claims Nursery with GLENDOWN (8.47). The juvenile built on some creditable efforts when just denied by Riverside Girl at Pontefract. The colt remains open to plenty of progress so he can go one better in another trappy race.

IATO’S ANGEL (6.17) looks divine for Keith Dalgleish in the EBF Maiden Stakes. The filly can triumph with a repeat of her fine third to Marshman in a decent event at Ayr.

Lawrence Mullaney’s

SNAZZY JAZZY (7.17) can turn on the style in the Scottish Stewards’ Cup.

The gelding ran another blinder when seventh to Inver Park in the Buckingham Palace at Ascot. The sprinter likes this track so he can take advantage of a workable mark back over six furlongs.

NAHANNI (7.47) can extend Charlie Appleby’s tremendous run in the EBF Glasgow Stakes. The colt should relish returning to 1m 4f after his decent sixth in the Queen’s Vase at Ascot.

Jim Goldie remains in peak form so I’m on CLAN JOCK (8.17) in the Hampton Handicap. The gelding was unlucky to encounter Lochnaver over course and distance. So this likeable type can go one better in a weaker contest.

JUAN LES PINS (3.10) can complete a hat-trick for shrewd Michael Appleby at Nottingham. The gelding is nicely unexposed so can follow up under Frederick Larson. ● DERBY winner Desert Crown has a foot injury and is out of the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot a week tomorrow.
