The three of us may mooch around shops

- Tina Daheley

RADIO 2 Breakfast Show news presenter Tina Daheley, 41, says her weekends involve family time with her daughter, culture, catch-ups and good food.

My weekend starts early on Friday. We’re all a bit giddy by the time it gets to the final Breakfast Show of the week – so once Friday evening comes, we’re very ready for the weekend.

We live in central London, which I love. We walk to most places and there’s always something new going on. I love that my 15-month-old daughter, Athena, gets to absorb so much culture at such a

young age. We have hundreds of restaurants on our doorstep so, if my parents babysit, my partner [fiancé Kane William-Smith] and I might go out locally on a Friday night after Athena has gone to sleep. We love spicy food and contemporary Indian restaurants particularly.

On Saturdays, it is family time. Athena has swimming first, then we go out for brunch nearby in Marylebone. Then the three of us may have a mooch around the shops along Marylebone High Street and make our way over to Regent’s Park.

In the evening, after Athena is asleep, we have friends over and catch up over nice wine and food.

It has always been a Sunday ritual to have a cup of tea in bed with family snuggles. So it’s the three of us in bed with the Sunday papers. Bliss.

We have a pub nearby that does the best Sunday roast, so we might go and have some lunch there.

We will then watch Points of View in the afternoon and we tend to have music on, too. Athena loves dancing with her little musical instruments.

Weekends, for me, are all about family and friends time so I take a break from social media and switch off from work as much as I can.
