From Countdown to top darts referee
KIRK Bevins says being a countdown champion helped him take aim at his career as a Tv darts referee.
Nicknamed the Kirkulator, the ex-maths teacher, 35, said player Phil Taylor helped him get his break.
He added: “He spoke to the tournament director. They asked me if i wanted to do it on telly. it was really cool.”
Now he is is spearheading a PDC campaign – Bullseye Maths – to get primary school children interested in maths.
