Switchboard pay row staff strike brews
SWITCHBOARD operators at NHS Forth Valley are gearing up for strike action over a back-dated pay row.
Five years ago, 18 workers complained to Serco, which runs the service, that they were wrongly banded.
After almost five years of negotiations the company agreed. However, their banding was only backdated to April 2021.
GMB spokesman at NHS Forth Valley, Nicholas Hill, said: “We are awaiting the conclusion of the second stage of the grievance procedure but if it is not settled after that we will probably be balloting for strike action.”
Tony McLaughlin, Serco’s regional director for Health in Scotland, said: “Their appeal concerning backpay is currently being considered.”
