We meet the ambitious couples choosing to invest in complete villages, snapping up abandoned rural hamlets around europe and hoping to turn a profit.
landscape gardeners Paul and yip have never owned a house before but decided to take a gamble on a cheap but dilapidated cottage in normandy. Soon they can’t resist scraping together some more money to buy the entire village, which costs them less than a typical house deposit in the UK.
nonetheless, it will take a lot more cash and hard graft to transform the cottages, stables and bakery into holiday accommodation that guests will be willing to pay for.
Francesca and Carl are further into their journey in their Italian village outside turin.
After pouring all their time, love and funds into refurbishment they hope their hamlet will soon become a sought-after wedding venue.
