Being in a treble spot was just no fun for Oli

- KENNY MacDONALD

OLI SHAW was gutted after blowing the chance for a first senior hat-trick.

The Kilmarnock striker had scored a double either side of goals by Liam Polworth and Dan Armstrong when he blasted a second penalty over the bar.

Shaw said: “I’ve never scored a hat-trick before, so that was the perfect chance and I chucked it!

“Missing a penalty isn’t great, but scoring two in a good win that takes us through will do. The hattrick will come I am sure.”

Loan ace Ryan Alebiosu shone in his 45-minute run-out and Killie boss Derek McInnes, who saw Matt Yates level for Stenny, said: “I’ve seen a lot of good debuts but that was up there.

“I’ll need to get back on to Arsenal to see if there are any more where he came from!”
