WELSH TO STAY
CELTIC are set to resist any bid from Toulouse to land defender Stephen Welsh.
The French club are keen on the centre-back and have make contact with Hoops chiefs. But they rate the 22-year-old highly – having secured the youngster on a new long-term deal last season.
Boss Ange Postecoglou sees the defender as part of his plans despite still having last season’s first choice centre-back pairing of Cameron CarterVickers and Carl Starfelt and signing Moritz Jenz from Lorient. Christopher Jullien is also still a Celt.
But Welsh has been a regular starter in pre-season and could be part of the side that kicks off the new campaign against Aberdeen on Sunday.
