Zelensky signs up A New Hope
STAR Wars actor Mark Hamill has been recruited by Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky as part of his fundraising campaign.
Best known for playing Jedi knight Luke Skywalker, Hamill’s latest role will include raising funds to support the Army of Drones – a project to use drones to monitor frontline territory.
Hamill, 71, shared a picture of himself in a virtual meeting with Zelensky, saying: “Honoured to be an ambassador for the Army of Drones and to help with president Zelensky and the people of Ukraine in any way possible.”
Zelensky also posted to his own Instagram page, writing: “This is a difficult yet very important mission ... Thank you for supporting the Ukrainian people in our struggle for freedom.”
