SCOTS are divided over new coins that feature the portrait of King Charles III.
The Royal Mint yesterday unveiled a first glimpse of the coins with the picture of the monarch.
Among the range is a special £5 Crown and a 50p piece with the new king’s portrait.
There will also be a special memorial coin range that commemorates Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.
Our readers had their say on the matter.
Jen Morton said: “It just does not look right... But it looks like our currency has changed. I do not like change. Pardon the pun.”
Mint Ang Jax added: “Sorry but it’s just weird man.”
Emma Lamont wrote: “Well, that was underwhelming.” Deryl Easton said: “So weird to look at, after all these years of Elizabeth being on them.”
Victoria McNamara took a different view, saying: “Coins have so much history, so much they could tell! I’ve ordered mine.”
Nadia Bailey added: “I think they look great, Long Live the King.”
