NO WEATHERING STORM FOR SCOTS
ONLY one of the 11 Scots in the Alfred Dunhill field bettered par as Scotland’s reputation for producing the best bad weather players took a battering.
While Bob MacIntyre made it around Kingsbarns in a two-under 70, next best Scot Ewen Ferguson needed 10 more shots to negotiate Carnoustie than he did the Old Course.
As Ferguson returned to level par with a 77, Connor Syme and Grant Forrest join him after 76 and 74 respectively. Scott Jamieson endured the worst day as a nine-over 81 at Kingsbarns included two double-bogey sixes. Richie Ramsay had a triple-bogey seven in a 79 at Carnoustie.
