Eilish has one more run, then break time

-

EILISH McCOLGAN is ready to pull out one final sprint to the finish line – and turn her homecoming parade into a lap of honour.

After an unforgettable Commonwealth gold and a Euro double, the Scot has one last outing at the Great Scottish Run ahead of a well-deserved break.

Ten kilometres around Glasgow should be simple before jetting off to the Indian Ocean but the chance of a rare home race was too good to turn down.

McColgan said: “I was excited to keep racing. Sessions have been going well. So I’d like to think I’ve still got a good run in me.” CRICKET: Phil Salt produced the tastiest of knocks to fire England to a thumping eight-wicket victory and set up a winner-takes-all final tomorrow.

Pakistan’s target of 170 was always going to be well within England’s range and Salt let rip in a powerfully ruthless innings of 88 not out from just 41 balls. He hit 13 fours and three sixes to help tie the series at 3-3. ICE HOCKEY: Glasgow Clan slumped to an eighth straight defeat as they were edged out 3-2 by Belfast Giants in a Challenge Cup group game at the Braehead Arena last night.

Dundee Stars were hammered 6-2 at Nottingham Panthers in an Elite League clash.
