Underdogs Clach will go for glory

-

JORDAN MacDONALD knows Clach are almighty underdogs as they chase their first North of Scotland Cup crown in two decades.

But the Lilywhites boss will refuse to rewrite the usual attacking game plan as they square up to Brora Rangers in the Final at their home ground.

It is eight years since the Merkinch men brought home a major trophy – the Highland League Cup – and few outside of Grant Street Park will give them much of a chance today.

MacDonald said: “Brora are a team who get the ball down and pass it around.

“We’re under no illusions how tough it will be.

“We are playing one of the big hitters in the Highland League but it is a cup final.

“We are there on merit and we will look to play to our best.”

Opposite number Craig Campbell is looking for Brora to banish memories of last season’s North Cup Final defeat by Rothes.

He said: “The hurt of last year will give us motivation.

“Nobody likes to be on the losing end of a cup final.”
