JOB LOT WILL BOLSTER JIM

-

JIM McINTYRE hopes strength in numbers can help his Cove side leapfrog Arbroath in their first competitive meeting today.

The Balmoral boss has bolstered his defensive options with the season-long loan signing of Jack Sanders from Kilmarnock.

Defenders Evan Towler, Max Johnston and Kyle McClelland had already arrived on loan.

McIntyre, whose side are off the foot of the table on goal difference, said: “I’m delighted to get Jack here. He is big, strong, physical, and a solid defender. He’s also quick and comfortable with the ball at his feet.

“Importantly I now have good cover, which will allow me to go with different formations at the back depending on the game.”

Both sides are locked on five points at the bottom and McIntyre added: “We have said from the start our goal is to remain in the division. Arbroath is a really important game and then we have Dundee up quickly during the week, so it was good to be able to rest some players last weekend.”

Gayfield gaffer Dick Campbell also welcomed a new face this week, securing the services of Livingston midfielder Scott Bitsindou on loan until the end of the campaign.

Campbell said: “Every manager is finding this window particularly tough but we are delighted to get Scott in. He looks a very good player and has a presence, so he will come straight into the squad.”
