Axed Marvin on next train out of Moscow

-

FORMER Celtic stopper Marvin Compper has been fired from his role as Lokomotiv Moscow boss.

The 37-year-old didn’t have the best of times in Glasgow after a £1million switch in 2017.

The Germany cap played just once – a 3-0 Scottish Cup win over Morton – and he was allowed to return to his homeland with Duisburg where he became a coach.

Compper made the surprise move to Russia last year as assistant to Markus Gisdol.

He took the top job when Gisdol quit in protest at Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and his family suffered abuse for staying – but the club haven’t shown the same loyalty.
