My Bhoys are full-on headache for Stevie

- BY DAVID McCARTHY

ANGE POSTECOGLOU reckons Scotland have some of the best full-back options in international football – and is delighted that two of his players are among them.

Anthony Ralston made a couple of sub appearances at right-back when injuries hit Nathan Patterson and Aaron Hickey during the international triple-header against Ukraine and the Republic of Ireland.

At the other side of the pitch, Taylor emphasised the fine form he has shown this term by playing a huge part in the 0-0 draw with the Ukrainians in Poland that sealed Scotland’s Nations League group win.

Postecoglou said: “It’s great for Greg. I said before the break that he works really hard every day to be the best he can be and get his level of football up there and maximise his potential.

“He has two world-class left-backs to compete against with Scotland.

“But you can look at that as something that is daunting, or you can see it as a challenge and something to motivate you.

“He wants to play at that same level and the way he goes about things I think shows that he seeks constant improvement.

“I know he’d have come back pleased that he was able to contribute but also wanting to make sure he is better the next time he is selected for the national team. All credit to him.

“It’s great for Scotland. I thought Hickey was outstanding as well and you have the likes of Patterson, Calvin Ramsay and Josh Doig.

“Full-back is an area of the park where Scotland have some real talent.”
