Shota’s been to Hull and sacked

-

HULL took the ruthless step of sacking Shota Alveradze just hours before last night’s 2-0 home loss to Luton.

Arveladze took the job back in January and steered them to Championship safety before a promising start to this season with two wins and two draws in their first four games.

But things then went off the rails with five defeats in six games.

The former Rangers striker was under pressure and just eight hours before kick-off against Luton, the club announced he had been axed. City chairman Acun Ilicali said: “It became clear our views weren’t aligned.”

Andy Dawson was named interim boss but things didn’t get much better for the Tigers as Alfie Jones scored an own goal before Henri Lansbury sealed victory for Luton.
