THIS ISN’T END OF THE STORY, ANDREW TOLD
Lawyer speaks out after prince’s £12m settlement
PRINCE Andrew has been warned he has not seen “the end of the story” by a lawyer for Jeffrey Epstein’s victims.
Spencer Kuvin has spoken out despite the Duke of York settling a civil lawsuit with his sex accuser Virginia Giuffre with no admission of liability.
The US lawyer also pointed out that Andrew’s British socialite friend Ghislaine Maxwell has until June 2023 to cooperate with prosecutors.
Maxwell, 60, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in June for conspiring with billionaire financier Epstein to sexually abuse dozens of young women.
“She is really the person who holds all the secrets,” said Kuvin in a US documentary Prince Andrew: Banished. “This isn’t the end of the story.”
Maxwell is being held in FCI Tallahassee, a low-security federal prison in Florida and has said she intends to appeal her sentence. Andrew, 62, is branded “an idiot”, a “spoiled brat” and a “narcissist” by royal experts in the 90-minute show on US channel Peacock, which explores his relationship with Epstein.
Journalist Helen Kirwan Taylor says of the prince: “The talk of the dinner parties was he couldn’t keep his trousers closed.”
Veteran journalist Annette Witheridge adds: “This entire sorry saga boils down to sex and greed.” The disgraced second son to the late Queen stepped down from royal duties in November 2019 over his association with child sex offender Epstein.
The decision, a highly unusual one for a senior royal, followed a disastrous BBC interview in which he came under fire for his ties with Epstein while appearing not to show sympathy for the deceased billionaire’s sex trafficking victims, many of them underage. He was stripped of his honorary military titles and charity roles, known as royal patronages, as well as his HRH title. No longer a working member of the Royal Family, Andrew did not wear a military uniform to the Queen’s state funeral last month. Andrew, who vehemently denied all of the allegations against him, agreed a settlement with Ms Giuffre in February. It brought to an end a seven-month legal action that left his reputation in tatters. The civil case was finally settled with a reported £12million payout.
