RAGING PARS ACE OUT TO NIK THE TITLE

-

NIKOLAY TODOROV insists he is determined to take his frustrations out on rivals after rescuing a point for Dunfermline against Queen of the South.

The striker sprang from the bench in the secondhalf to cancel out Ruari Paton’s first-half strike to maintain the Pars’ unbeaten home record.

James McPake’s side have still only lost once in the league this season, but saw Edinburgh cut their lead at the top of the table to five points.

But Todorov is convinced the comeback draw could prove a crucial point in the Fifers’ bid for promotion back to the Championship.

The 26-year-old, who has started just twice in the last eight games, said: “I’m frustrated, but we are top of the league for a reason.

“There’s no individuals within the team; it’s as long as we are winning.

“There is no problem with me. As long as we are winning and we are doing well, I don’t mind. We are all a team. I want to use the frustration in the right direction. It is a long season and we are doing well.

“I’ve never been the guy who is going to start destroying things when they are going well. If I can contribute and get us back up I will give my all.”

David Robertson insists he “learned a lot”’ despite 10-man Peterhead side going down 3-0 at Kelty Hearts in his first game.

All three goals came in the second half, first when Tam O’Ware headed in before Nicky Low netted from the spot and Andy McDonald saw red in the process. Alfredo Agyeman then wrapped up the win with a late third.

New boss Robertson said: “It was good to see the players, their mentality and I learned a lot. There’s a lot of work to do, but a lot of good stuff to work with.”

Both sides had to settle for a point as Airdrie came from behind to draw 1-1 away at Falkirk.

Rangers loanee Kai Kennedy curled the Bairns ahead midway through the first half, but Callum Smith levelled for the Diamonds.

Edinburgh returned to winning ways following their Scottish Cup exit with a 2-0 victory away at Clyde thanks to a controversial first-half goal courtesy of John Robertson and Danny Handling’s deflected effort.

Alloa drew 0-0 with Montrose.
