KILLIE? WE’LL BE SICK OF EACH OTHER
LIAM FOX has joked Dundee United and Kilmarnock will be sick of the sight of each other after their Scottish Cup fifth-round clash.
United have been handed the advantage of a home draw for next month’s clash.
The pair also clash at Rugby Park in the league next week and by the time they play in the cup they will have met five times already this season.
Killie put United out the League Cup back in October – and that’s something the Tannadice side will be out to avenge.
Fox said:“We have a game against Kilmarnock next month – we will be sick of the sight of each other after that game.
“It is a tough tie but the positive for us is the game is at home. When you get a cup tie you’d always prefer it at home and thankfully we’ve got that.
“We know enough about Kilmarnock and will know even more about them because we have them in the league before then.
“They’ll fancy their chances and we’ll fancy ours. We got a good result against them at home last time.”
United progressed into the fifth round after seeing off University of Stirling at the weekend. And Fox admitted it was all about getting the job done and also staying injury-free.
United now turn their attention to Celtic this weekend.
And the manager said: “The most important thing was getting through and everybody has come through unscathed, thankfully.
“Everybody was hoping there might be a massive shock or a slip-up but we have managed to come through that and with no injuries.”
Fox is still looking to add to his squad and wants to strengthen his squad before the close of the window.
The Tannadice boss has let a number of players go out, such as goalkeeper Carljohan Eriksson.
However other United players such as Tony Watt and Rory MacLeod have also been linked with possible January exits.
And Fox has previously said that he would like to strengthen all areas.
He added: “There are always bits and bobs going on in the background.
“I can’t say anything will happen in the next couple of days but we all know that things can change quickly in the transfer window.”
