Ross lets Glasgow know who is boss

-

Leanne Ross kicked off her permanent stint as Glasgow City manager with a storming 11-0 win over hapless Glasgow Women, who remain pointless so far this season.

There was a double from Lauren Davidson as well as Kinga Kozak with other goals from Linda Motlhalo, emily Whelan, Megan Foley, Miracle Porter, Priscila Chinchilla, Jenna Clark and Claire Walsh as City enjoyed their biggest win of the season.

It takes them into the split with their six-point cushion at the top in place.

Celtic bounced back from their defeat to City last weekend with a 2-0 win over fifth-placed Hibs in edinburgh with manager Fran alonso pleased at the performance and the spirit within his squad.

“It was a very professional performance,” he said. “some players might have lacked confidence because we didn’t win [against Glasgow City] last week but it is all about standing up again.

“It is three points and it is a good way for us to make up for last weekend.”

Rangers made it three wins on the bounce following their 6-0 win over Hamilton at Broadwood.

Rachel McLaughlan started the scoring with Lisa Martinez celebrating a hat-trick while Brogan Hay and Colette Cavanagh chipped it with the third.

Malky Thomson’s side are just a point off of Celtic but seven off of City.

Cara Henderson’s goal for the Jags meant that Brian Graham’s side held off pressure from Motherwell and spartans to take the last top six place.

Motherwell came from behind to beat aberdeen 3-1 but it wasn’t enough as they missed out on the top six by a point.
