Mernie Gilmore finds out what’s hot to shop this week
EAT
Dark chocolate is packed with antioxidants, and the higher the cocoa percentage, the better it is for you. So we were excited to hear about Lindt’s new Lindor Dark 70% Truffles, £6.30. The super smooth truffle filling is wrapped in 70 per cent cocoa chocolate, and the result is deliciously dark and decadent. Pick up a box in all major supermarkets.
DRINK
Fancy a free drink? Then head to your nearest branch of Cote Brasserie before February 29 wearing skiwear, say “apres everything” to your waiter, and you’ll be given a beverage on the house. This is to celebrate the high street favourite’s new Alpine menu, which celebrates apres-ski dining with delicious fondue and cheesy tartiflette. Find your nearest restaurant at cote.co.uk.
HEALTH
Research shows that 70 per cent of us don’t get enough magnesium in our diet. The mineral is essential for everything from good sleep and mood to healthy bones. So top up your levels with Better You Magnesium Water, £1.99, which comes in three flavours. Our favourite is Focus, a refreshing blend of blueberry and mint that promises to boost alertness and brain function. Visit betteryou.com to order.
HOME
It may still be cold and dark outside but we’re looking forward to spring with the new homeware collection from H&M Home. It features bright and fresh designs in calming greens, whites and neutrals, and will freshen up any room. Top of our wishlist are these stylish pillar candles, from £9.99, which come in different sizes and colours. Find them in store and at hm.com.
TECH
Find flossing a chore? You’re not alone. We all know we should be doing it but often it gets forgotten. So try water flossing instead with the Ordo Hydro Sonic Water Flosser, £44.99. It uses micro jets of water to gently but effectively remove plaque and food debris from between the teeth for healthy gums, fresh breath and a sparkling smile. Find out more at ordolife.com.
