SUNDAY SHAUN THE SHEEP MOVIE 3.15pm, BBC ONE

Early man was slightly underwhelm­ing but Nick park’s big-screen spin-off of the cute claymation CBBC series is near-perfect family fun. shaun and the flock must navigate the big city to find their amnesia-stricken farmer, who now believes he’s a celebrity hairstylis­t. (2015/pG) ★★★★

THE GODFATHER PART II 9pm, Film4

This is one of the very few movie sequels that can claim to be as good as (or perhaps even better than) the original. Both a sequel and a prequel, it picks up the story of al pacino’s michael Corleone, now don of the crime family, and also details the life of michael’s father Vito (Robert De Niro) from his childhood in sicily to his life of crime in New York. (1974/18) ★★★★★

AMERICAN MADE 11.20pm, 5Star

Being an internatio­nal drugs smuggler isn’t cool but it does make for a highly entertaini­ng action comedy. Based on real events, the film features Tom Cruise as american pilot Barry seal, who flies illicit missions transporti­ng contraband for the Cia and Colombian drug cartels. (2017/15) ★★★★

MONDAY THE MADNESS OF KING GEORGE 6.50pm, Film4

England’s benevolent King George iii becomes mentally unstable during the time of political upheaval. Dr Willis, an exminister, tries to cure the monarch through behaviour modificati­on. starring Nigel Hawthorne and Helen mirren. (1994/pG) ★★★★

pierce Brosnan’s first outing as Bond was the most successful 007 movie since 1979’s moonraker. The super-suave irishman was born to play the iconic spy, who is tasked with destroying a nuclear space weapon captured by sean Bean’s rogue former agent. (1995/15) ★★★★
