Morrison has Call to arms for Bairns pals

-

CALLUMN MORRISON urged Falkirk to ease the pain of an added-time kick in the teeth from Annan by beating Cove tomorrow to stretch their lead at the top to 17 points.

The winger gave Bairns the lead just on the hour mark only for Tommy Muir to head a shock equaliser in the fourth extra minute.

But Morrison urged John McGlynn’s side, still the only team in British football not to lose a league game, not to dwell on the disappointment of drawing.

He said: “These are the wee things that you cannot let creep in.

“It’s obviously frustrating when you don’t take your chances. We created a lot and I had a chance in the first 30 seconds which I should have put away.

“A few of the other boys had chances as well.

“We have just got to bounce back and we have got a big game on Tuesday night when we can make a big statement.

“We are still unbeaten in the league and want to keep that going.

“But we have to be more clinical. We create so many chances but don’t get enough goals.”

Morrison was set up by Stephen McGinn for his 16th goal of the season and he added: “I was happy with my goal.

“I thought we could have got another but fair play to Annan, they fought back and scored.”

Akheem Rose grabbed a hat-trick as Hamilton thrashed Kelty Hearts 5-0.

The on-loan Ayr United striker secured the match ball with his treble in between strikes from both Jake Davidson and Reghan Tumility as Accies won their first game in five.

Montrose jumped above

Alloa and into third place with a 4-3 win over Wasps.

Blair Lyons put Montrose ahead and, after Taylor Steven and Ethan Sutherland struck for Alloa, Sean Dillon ensured it was level at the break.

Kane Hester edged the home side ahead again but despite Kevin Cawley being sent off, Alloa hit back through Bobby Wales.

Graham Webster settled it with a late winner.

Dale Carrick hit a late equaliser as Stirling twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at Queen of the South.

Alex Ferguson’s early opener for the Doonhamers was cancelled out by Josh McPake. Josh Todd struck for Queens but Carrick, who had a first-half penalty saved, levelled in the last minute.

Connor Scully and Mitch Megginson struck in either half to give Cove Rangers a 2-0 away win at bottom side Edinburgh City.
