Winner was the stuff of dreams

- BY MICHAEL GANNON

TOYOSI OLUSANYA admits he’s in dreamland after the best seven days of his career.

He was St Mirren’s last-gasp hero against Aberdeen to cap an incredible week where he grabbed a late leveller against Ross County and signed a new deal in Paisley.

But Olusanya admitted Saturday’s wild celebrations topped the lot.

He said: “I’ve definitely not had a better week than this. I’d say the winning goal was the best moment I have had in football.

“A lot of things happen late in games and all you can do is play until the last minute.

“The boys showed great attitude and it just shows how much we believe that we got that late winner.

“I was happy to be in the right place at the right time and convert it – I just about survived the celebrations!

“I couldn’t breathe at the end of it. I could feel everyone on top of me.

“I’ve never been in a changing room like this. We all get on as one and there isn’t a bad egg in the group.

“We can all rely on each other and it is just a good, honest group of boys.”

Olusanya admitted he felt bad for his old Middlesbrough manager Neil Warnock – who helped him get his move to Saints.

The under-fire Dons gaffer gave Buddies boss Stephen Robinson a glowing recommendation and Olusanya said: “He was good. He was passionate, both him and Ronnie Jepson, and they tried to improve me as much as they could. They gave me a lot of information and believed in me.

“I remember wanting to come here in the summer and the gaffer said he spoke to neil and he’d said nothing but good things.

“I’m just grateful for the opportunity he gave me.”
