We can Bully Wee our way out of trouble

-

DOUBLE goal hero Jordan Allan says Clyde have the will to win needed to get out of the relegation zone.

The on-loan Falkirk striker struck twice in three minutes to cancel out a first-half header from Jake Dolzanski in a 2-1 win over 10-man Elgin.

Dolzanski saw red for City and it was Clyde’s day as the bottom side claimed back-to-back victories for the first time this term.

Clyde were 10 points adrift just last month but have reduced that to three on Stranraer, who have a game in hand.

And Allan believes three wins in four matches shows the Bully Wee can haul themselves away from the pyramid play-off spot.

Allan, in his second loan spell at the club, said: “It is a massive win for us.

“I want to do my best to help us get out of this because we are far too good a team – and too massive a club – to be in the position we are in.

“But that is football. You just have to suck it up and get on with it. And over the last couple of weeks we have shown that grit and determination.

“We have a will to win. You can see from the performance of the lads that they are giving it absolutely everything. “The way teams have celebrated against us, they all want us down. So it’s a case of regrouping and going again.”

Dolzanski put Elgin ahead but Allan pulled Clyde level in style in 53 minutes, curling a fine 15-yard strike into the top corner beyond keeper Thomas McHale.

Three minutes later he got on the end of Jaze Kabia’s cross to poke home a winner before Dolzanski

was dismissed for a second yellow late on.

East Fife’s revival under Dick Campbell continued as they came back from behind to earn a 3-1 win at The Spartans.

Campbell, who quit Arbroath after a Scottish Cup loss at Ainslie Park in November, made a happy return to the capital.

Cammy Russell put the home side ahead but Alan Trouten’s double and Nathan Austin’s 14th goal this season sealed the win.

Matty Aitken grabbed a late winner as leaders Stenhousemuir restored their 17-point cushion at the top at Bonnyrigg.

It was also 1-0 at Dumbarton as Michael Ruth’s 73rd-minute cracker earned the Sons a victory over Peterhead.

And 10-man Forfar drew 0-0 at Stranraer as Stuart Morrison saw red in 75 minutes for a second bookable offence.
