COME FINE WITH ME

Serial offender abused victim at home and on social media

- BY CONNOR GORDON

A SCOTS Come Dine With Me winner has been fined £515 for stalking a woman.

Lucy Haughey, 43, who was convicted in 2017 of sleeping with a 15-year-old boy, was abusive towards Joanne Bell in Glasgow’s Queen’s Park in October 2022. Court papers state Haughey engaged in a course of conduct that caused Joanne fear or alarm. Haughey repeatedly posted on social media about her. The charge says she repeatedly uttered offensive and abusive remarks towards Joanne’s family. Haughey was also convicted of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at her home in the city’s Cathcart.

Haughey acted in an aggressive manner, shouted, swore and uttered threats and offensive remarks towards police officers and 101 call handlers.

Haughey was found not guilty of resisting, obstructing or hindering two constables.

It had been claimed she struggled with them and pulled against them on a flight of stairs.

Haughey hit the headlines in 2017 after sleeping with a boy aged 15. She was given a three-year community payback order. Earlier that year she won £1000 on Channel 4 reality show Come Dine With Me.

Haughey’s previous convictions include stalking Sharon Low in 2022 after posting a video online which included abusive comments.

She was also convicted in 2017 of stalking a social worker and was sentenced to community service.

Haughey was ordered to do 234 hours of unpaid work on top of the fine by Glasgow sheriff Simone Sweeney for her latest offence.

A five-year non-harassment order was also granted barring contact with Joanne.
