Hostage families’ plea for Hamas to ‘show humanity’

- BY MATTHEW YOUNG

FAMILIES of those captured in Gaza have spoken of their fears for women still being held and who could now be several months pregnant to Hamas terrorists.

The October 7 raids in Israel resulted in the deaths of more than 1100 people while many more were captured.

A UN team this week said there was “convincing information” that hostages held in

Gaza had been subjected to sexual violence including rape and sexualised torture. Of the 134 remaining hostages, 19 are women. At a press conference at the Israeli Embassy in London yesterday, families gathered to plead for Hamas to “show humanity” and release all their loved ones.

Inbal Zach, whose cousin Tal Shoham, 39, was kidnapped, said she feared greatly for the women being held.

“I’m terrified for them – and terrified for everyone,” she said. “If there are ladies who are pregnant as a result of rape, it’s five months now.”

Heartbroken Orit Meir told of her helplessness as her boy Almog Meir, 21, was kidnapped from the Nova Music Festival on October 7. She sobbed: “On October 7 I was home alone, I wanted to get him but I couldn’t. There were missiles.” Or Levy, 33, was at the festival with wife Eynav, 32. Their two-year-old boy Almog has not seen his parents since.

Or’s brother Michael said: “My little brother had to watch his wife being murdered before he was abducted.

“He is somewhere in tunnels in Gaza being held by monsters.

“This is not about politics, it’s about human beings. Their only crime was to go to a music festival.”

Mothers of captive teen girls will today launch a Bring Back Our Girls campaign for International Women’s Day.
