Injection of quality is squad’s gift for Hibees

- BY IAIN ORR

NICK MONTGOMERY insists Hibs have hit a purple patch because he now has an abundance of quality players to pick from.

The Hibees have picked up seven points from their last three leagues games and will look to build on that in Sunday’s Scottish Cup quarter-final with Rangers.

As well as having Martin Boyle, Lewis Miller and Rocky Bushiri back from international duty, Montgomery has also watched January recruits Myziane Maolida, emiliano Marcondes and Nathan Moriah-Welsh improve with every game.

on the injury front, the likes of Chris Cadden and Adam Le Fondre are also back available and the manager insists his team are in a good place ahead of Sunday’s live showdown.

Montgomery, who watched his team climb back into the top six with victory over Ross County last weekend, said: “We are building momentum.

“We will look forward to a big cup game at our place in

front of a big crowd against Rangers.

“The performances have been really good since we got boys back from the internationals, the new boys have had a couple of weeks to gel and then we’ve had a few injured boys back as well.

“It was a good end to a big week.”

Dylan Levitt scored the second goal against Ross County after coming off the bench and Montgomery insists he’s ready to push for a starting berth after being sidelined with illness.

He added: “I thought it was the perfect game for him to come at half-time because the game is stretched.

“If you give him time on the edge of the box with his ability on the ball... he scored one against Celtic then on Saturday, we know that’s what he can do.”
