THE SATURDAY JURY

-

1 DO you think rangers will finish the job off at ibrox against Benfica in the europa league?

It was a superb result in Portugal considering the injury absences. There was nothing to fear from Benfica the other night and Rangers should smell blood.

The fact that Rangers were disappointed not to win the game tells its own story. It will give them confidence they can finish the job at a packed-out Ibrox.

Yes. Rangers have coughed up three consecutive leads against Benfica in recent years but the Portuguese giants appear one bad result from the wheels coming off and that looks likely at a white-hot Ibrox.

2 Brendan rodgers has been summoned by the SFA for a post-match rant. should he be disciplined?

It’s inevitable he’ll get done and the rules are clear on questioning the competence of officials – regardless if managers have a point. It just depends on how severe the penalty is and if he’ll be in the stand at Ibrox.

I understand Brendan’s frustrations. He was right to make his point and stand up for his team. I don’t think he should be banned but the likelihood is it will happen.

Rodgers was het-up in Gorgie but the man who has made a career out of staying cool on the touchline will be aware his direct claims about John Beaton leave little wiggle room. But the protracted date will offer plenty of time to fight the charge.

3 CELTIC have let liel abada and Alexandro Bernabei leave. are they now a bit short?

Big time. Abada should have gone on loan until things calmed down. Celtic had to keep Bernabei after failing to land a left-back in January. They have walked themselves on to a tight rope.

Both boys were keen to go. I don’t think Abada would have played again and it sees a decent return for Celtic. My concern with Bernabei would come if Greg Taylor gets injured.

Both were unlikely to play much for different reasons but the rampaging left-back’s departure appears a high-risk move considering he was starting games only last month with Taylor on the sidelines. It’s now an uneven squad in multiple positions.

4 WHICH four clubs do you think will progress and make up the scottish Cup semi-final draw?

Hearts will do the business, Celtic and Rangers will need to scrape to get through and Killie will add to Aberdeen’s woe.

I fear Kilmarnock will add to Aberdeen’s misery. Celtic and Rangers will both progress and Hearts should see off Morton, although it could be tight.

Aberdeen with a logic-denying rousing win plus Rangers in a thriller and Celtic and Hearts to have too much.
