Trump: If I’m not elected, it’ll be a BLOODBATH

Ex-president accused of extremism at rally

DONALD Trump has warned of a “bloodbath” if he is not re-elected in November.

The former US president also used his latest campaign speech to vilify migrants, saying: “They’re not people.” Trump’s dehumanising language was a return to the tactics that saw him first elected in 2016. His speech brought back memories of the deadly riots at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, when his supporters tried to overturn his defeat to Joe Biden in the 2020 election.

Trump, 77, told the rally in Vandalia, Ohio: “If I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole country.”

While it was unclear what he meant precisely, the remarks came as Trump complained about the US car industry.

He opened Saturday’s rally with a recording of those convicted over their part in the 2021 riots singing the US national anthem. Saluting the crowd, he said he would issue pardons for the “hostages” on the first day of his presidency. Trump, who was impeached for inciting his supporters to storm the Capitol, also lashed out at immigrants.

“In some cases, they’re not people, in my opinion,” he said.

Trump once again promoted his “America First” policy, promising a “100 per cent tariff ” on cars made outside the US.

A Biden spokesman said: “He wants another January 6, but the American people are going to give him another electoral defeat… because they continue to reject his extremism, his affection for violence and his thirst for revenge.”

A Trump spokesman said Trump had been discussing the impact of a second Biden term on the auto industry and the broader economy when he made the “bloodbath” remark.

He added: “Crooked Joe Biden and his campaign are engaging in out-of-context editing.”
