STENHOUSEMUIR ace James Berry admits he got a pick-me-up finding out they didn’t lose ground on their title rivals after feeling sore about Forfar’s late equaliser in their 1-1 draw.

The midfielder opened the scoring in 23 minutes with a tap-in following a knock-on by Matthew Aitken before Adam Hutchinson levelled for the hosts from a Kieran Inglis freekick with five minutes left.

Despite frustration at not picking up the win in Angus, Stenny remain 15 points clear at the top of the summit as Peterhead travel to Ochilview this weekend in a tabletopping clash.

He said: “When you lose a goal before the end it feels like two points dropped but we’re away from home and it was about chipping away and getting points.

“It’s sore to take but it was a pick-me-up finding out the others around us dropped points – hopefully we’ll get over the line soon but we’re focused on the next game and picking up the points.

“We’ve always been focused on winning our home games and doing what we can away – we’ve been consistent with that.

“It’s a big game at home to Peterhead next week.”
