1 DOES Paulo Bernardo merit a permanent Celtic deal this summer or is £6million a bit steep?

Bernardo has shown flashes. However, not enough to splash out £6m. That’s too expensive.

Fans hoped for another Jota but he has only delivered in flashes. His Old Firm strike was a glimpse of his capabilities but moments like that have been too few and far between. I’d look to spend the cash elsewhere.

Not for me. There hasn’t been enough evidence to suggest he’s a £6m player. That type of money requires an impact week in, week out. If they were to lose Matt O’Riley then Bernardo isn’t of the same quality.

2 CRAWFORD ALLAN steps down as refs’ chief this summer. Should a foreigner be his replacement?

The best man for the job should get it. Whether he’s from Maryhill or the Moon.

We should be looking for the best person for the job – it doesn’t matter if they come from Motherwell, Munich or Mars.

It doesn’t matter where they come from, they’re on a hiding to nothing. VAR is a shambles and the handball and offside rules are a nightmare. That’s what needs sorted more than anything else.

3 NO Premiership this weekend so Championship is in full focus. Who will emerge as champions?

Dundee United are top billing again and the Tannadice club have the squad to get the job done.

You’d think United should prove too strong given the quality of their squad and the cash they’ve spent on it but they’ve repeatedly offered Raith Rovers chances to hang on. If United don’t win the league, they’ll only have themselves to blame.

Watching United capitulate to Dunfermline last week was an eye opener. They have the better squad but their form is all over the place. Next weekend is huge at home to Raith and whoever wins that will have the momentum. I fancy Rovers.

4 AS it’s the international break, who do you fancy to win this summer’s Euros?

France are always high on the list for these tournaments nowadays and this year is no different.

With such a ridiculous abundance of talent at their disposal, France are the heavy favourites.

I see the noisy neighbours are being touted heavily again. France look a better bet though. They’ve got strength and quality right through their ranks.
