SUN JOY’S ALL BRIGHT

- BY GARRY OWEN

SUN JOY (3.20) can make it a bright day for Ben Pauling in the novices’ handicap hurdle at Exeter.

The five-year-old relished returning to 2m 4f when decisively defeating Zestful Hope at Huntingdon.

The gelding was value for more than the half-length verdict so he can extend his yards’ winning run.

PIRATES’ TALE (3.50) can plunder the City Of Exeter Handicap Hurdle for Jimmy

Frost. The gelding built on some respectable efforts when slamming Isocrate over course and distance. That was a decent maiden so the six-year-old can take advantage of an attractive opening mark.

GINGERBRED (4.20) looks tasty for Team Hobbs & White in the Kenn Handicap Chase.

The gelding stayed on the upgrade with a cracking second to No Hubs No Hoobs at Wincanton. That is excellent form so the six-year-old can claim another strong event for his shrewd yard.

MOONLIT POTTER (2.35) can shine for Henry Daly in the novices’ hurdle at Huntingdon.

The six-year-old overcame a troubled passage to narrowly defeat Followango at Ling field.

The mare looks open to plenty more progress so can follow-up for her thriving handler.

Dan Skelton is also flying so I’m on ILLICO DE COTTE (3.05) in the Racing TV Hurdle. The gelding deservedly opened his account by brushing aside Howaya Now at Hereford.

The six-year-old can do plenty of damage in handicaps so he can deny some useful rivals.

ASGARD’S CAPTAIN (5.30) can take control for Dylan Cuhna on the Newcastle all-weather.

The gelding enjoyed his fourth win of 2024 by hammering Sense Of Worth over track and trip. The four-year-old scored with plenty in hand so he can defy a welter-burden for his skilled yard.

PALLAS LORD (6.30) has also been thriving this year so he can bag the BetMGM Handicap.

Donald Whillans’ charge ran another stormer when giving Perfect Swiss most problems here. The six-year-old remains fairly-treated so he can resume winning ways in this similar contest.

David Thompson has really hit top gear so I’m rowing in with MARTIN’S BRIG (7.0) . The gelding won’t mind dropping back to seven furlongs after cosily denying Time Patrol here.
