Two Teen pals die in e-bike Tragedy
Tributes are paid to Gregor, 16, and Marcus, 17 after a four-car crash leaves rider, 14, in hospital
TRIBUTES have poured in for two teenage boys who died in an e-bike crash.
Friends say Marcus Beck, 17, and Gregor Booth, 16, will always be in their hearts and remain forever young.
The teenagers passed away following the incident on the A941 near Elgin at around 8pm on Monday.
Emergency services attended the scene, at the junction with the B9135, following reports of the collision involving a Sur-Ron e-bike, a blue Vauxhall Mokka, a red Renault Clio, a black Vauxhall Corsa and a white VW Golf.
Ambulance crews attended but pals Marcus and Gregor, who were passengers on the e-bike, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Their 14-year-old friend, who was driving the bike, was taken to nearby Dr Gray’s Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
Medics describe his condition as stable.
Following the devastating news, friends spoke emotionally about the impact that Marcus and Gregor had made on them.
Callum Calderwood said: “Fly high Marcus. I’m absolutely heartbroken about the news. I just can’t believe it.”
Lisa J Gray said: “Rest easy boys, there are just no words. Lots of broken hearts have been left behind, thinking of your families and friends at this sad heartbreaking time.”
Mollie Mcwilliam echoed that, saying: “Forever 16 and 17. Rest easy boys.”
While Jenny Anderson added: “Fly high Gregor and Marcus.”
The driver of the Mokka, a 54-yearold man, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries. His condition was described as critical but stable. No one else was injured.
The road was closed for crash investigation work to be carried out and officers are appealing to the public for information.
Sergeant Iain Nicholson said: “Our thoughts are very much with the families and friends of the two teenagers who died and they need privacy at what is a very upsetting and difficult time for all.
“Our investigation into the crash is ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who has not already spoken to officers and who has any information to help with our enquiries.
“If you have dash-cam or anything else that could assist officers then please get in touch.”
