Crawford: We need to stay on the up
STEVIE CRAWFORD has warned Cowdenbeath they must be at their best at Cumbernauld Colts today.
Crawford – who took over after the departure of Calum Elliot two weeks ago – was given a big boost when the Blue Brazil beat Linlithgow Rose in his first game in charge.
The interim boss, who has taken over for the last four league games of the season, said: “The lads produced a really strong performance after an unsettled week for them.
“We fully deserved the three points and the clean sheet but we know we’ll have to produce a similar performance against Cumbernauld.
“We need to have more of the same – it was a good overall performance.”
Colts, who were fighting it out at the top of the table, have picked up only one point from their last four league games and have slipped to fifth.
East Kilbride’s title hopes have been dashed twice in the past 10 days with two games postponed and they’ll have to wait until next Saturday when they host Berwick, needing just one point to clinch the title.
But they still have a big weekend ahead, facing Tranent in tomorrow’s Lowland League Cup Final at Broadwood.
It’s a re-run of the semifinal of the South Region Challenge Cup last week – when Kilby got through to the final with a 2-1 win over Tranent.
Also tomorrow, Celtic B head to Stirling Uni while today Berwick face Linlithgow Rose, Bo’ness travel to play Broomhill and Caledonian Braves take on Edinburgh Uni.
Gretna 2008 square up to Gala Fairydean Rovers at Raydale Park – and Hearts B defeated East Stirling 5-3 last night.
