Slam says goodbye to the stink in your sink

- By liaM gilliVeR

AVOID a hefty bill by unblocking your sink with an “incredible” product from Home Bargains.

Experts say the average cost of repairing an internal clogged drain, including a kitchen sink, is about £240.

Amid the cost-of-living crisis, this is simply unaffordable for many cash-strapped Scots.

But if you notice wafts of unpleasant smells, gurgling sounds or your water is draining away much slower than it usually does, you probably have an issue with your drains.

Luckily, savvy shoppers have discovered a holy grail product that costs less than a quid.

Taking to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, which has 2.4 million members, one man raved about the Kilrock Slam Plughole Unblocker after using a slew of other products. “Best drain cleaner I’ve ever bought,” he wrote.

“[It] shifted a blockage I haven’t cleared with any other means – and one shot was all it took.”

The post attracted hundreds of comments from avid cleaners – with many tagging their friends and saying they “need” to try the product.

Others had already tried the unblocker and were seriously impressed with the results. One said: “These are brilliant. I was dubious due to how cheap they but [they’re good].”

Another agreed: “Yep, only thing I’ve found that works.” While a third added: “I use these once a month on both my bathroom and kitchen sinks, keeps water flowing freely.”

You can grab a sachet of the acclaimed cleaning product for just 99p at Home Bargains.

However, if you don’t live near a store, there are many online retailers selling the unblocker.

Home Care Essentials is currently selling a box of 12 for £13.99, which works out only slightly more expensive at £1.16 per sachet.
