1970 SCOTTISH CUP FINAL ABERDEEN 3 CELTIC 1

The Dons won their first Scottish Cup for 23 years in a controvers­ial encounter between Celtic’s European Cup semi-final ties with Leeds United. Derek ‘Cup-tie’ McKay netted a double and Joe Harper converted a penalty in front of 108,434.

1976 LEAGUE CUP FINAL ABERDEEN 2 CELTIC 1 (AET)

It was Celtic’s 13th consecutiv­e League Cup Final appearance but the Dons took the spoils in a thriller. Drew Jarvie cancelled out a Kenny Dalglish penalty to take the game into extra time and Davie Robb netted the winner for Ally MacLeod’s men.

1984 SCOTTISH CUP FINAL ABERDEEN 2 CELTIC 1 (AET)

The dominant Dons side of the Eighties won their third Scottish Cup in a row. Roy Aitken became the first player to be sent off in a Final since 1928. Paul McStay equalised after Eric Black’s opener but Mark McGhee grabbed an extra time winner for Aberdeen.
