OUR PREDICTIONS

OUR TEAM HAVE THEIR SAY

-

KEITH JACKSON

If it’s as turbo-charged as the last one there’s no logical way of predicting the outcome. Commonsense says Celtic will make the most of home advantage but since when did that apply to this fixture? The important thing for the champions is they avoid defeat. Another draw feels the most likely outcome.

CRAIG SWAN

Celtic have momentum and all of their key players back in the line-up. And with home advantage added into that mix, Brendan Rodgers’ side could well prove too strong for Rangers.

ANDY NEWPORT

The teams’ last meeting was an all-time classic but this time I suspect the nerves and tension might make things a little cagier. Rangers need a win more than their rivals but with their lack of firepower I can’t see Brendan Rodgers’ side losing.

SCOTT BURNS

Celtic have the advantage in the title race and I expect them to do enough to keep themselves out in front. I can’t see Celtic losing, especially with home advantage. Rangers need to win but I’m not sure if they’re defensively strong enough. McGregor v Cantwell should be fascinating.

MICHAEL GANNON

Celtic are stronger but this could be another wild one as Rangers are at their best when they feel they’ve nothing to lose. It’s hard to see either side keeping a clean sheet so it’s likely another goalfest. Celtic might need to hang on but will get the point that suits them more than their rivals.

FRASER WILSON

Everything points towards a Celtic victory but it won’t be comfortable, none of the meetings this season have been. Rangers have no option but to go for a win and that freedom of mind could see them pose the Hoops problems. But Celtic are hitting top gear at just the right time and will edge it to spark a Parkhead party.

GAVIN BERRY

Nothing Rangers have shown in derbies this season or in any game in the last month suggests they have either the mentality or quality to win at the home of their rivals, who look like they’re finding their best form at the right time. An away win would be one of the most unlikely results.

GRAEME YOUNG

There was real gusto in the Rangers sides who decked Betis and drew at Benfica but even among their most ardent followers, genuine belief is low. But Celtic winning comfortably and all-but securing another title feels too comfy. Celtic won’t lose but Rangers will bare their teeth.
