Big bucks for everyone at heart of this show but not the star turn

- By John Dingwall The Daily Record reporter who carried out the first interview with ‘real-life Martha’ Fiona Harvey

IN jusT four days, 10.2million people have logged on to watch Fiona Harvey’s first on-screen interview.

The staggering viewing figure for Piers Morgan’s YouTube show proved Baby Reindeer for the global TV phenomenon that it is.

Harvey, after all, is the woman who was quickly identified by internet sleuths as Netflix show’s real-life Martha.

Horror writer stephen King considers the Baby Reindeer character as terrifying as Annie Wilkes from his best-seller Misery.

When Thursday’s Piers Morgan uncensored led the internet into a frenzy, it left viewers divided over whether Harvey is a “psycho stalker” as Morgan put it, or a victim.

some thought she was telling the truth, others that she was lying through her teeth.

Many wanted to know why she is at the heart of the story and not the powerful TV executive who allegedly raped scots comedian Richard Gadd, 34, on multiple occasions.

They wanted to know why Gadd, who created Baby Reindeer, did not name or report HIM to the police.

Inevitably though, it was only a matter of time before this all came down to brass tacks… or rather money.

All that engagement on Morgan’s YouTube channel, along with the views, equals big bucks for the presenter who will reap rewards from the views, comments and advertising.

That’s in addition to the fortune Gadd has made from the TV series from his life experience.

Morgan estimates Gadd has made about £3million. Netflix has done OK too.

so why not me, Harvey asks? she hasn’t made a bean.

At present, these allegations against her don’t appear to have been proven in a court of law.

so why not get a slice of the pie?
