SCUNTHORPE held on to top spot in League One despite being held to a 2-2 draw by 10-men Sheffield United.

Chris Basham gave the visitors the lead but Scunthorpe levelled through Josh Morris’ eighth strike of the season. Basham was sent off with 21 minutes left before Duane Holmes put the hosts in front.

But Billy Sharp rescued a point for United with an 85th-minute penalty.

Bury moved into the automatic promotion places thanks to Tom Pope’s late winner.

Zeli Ismail had given Bury the lead before Kristian Dennis hit back for visitors Chesterfie­ld. But Pope (right) popped up to head home Tom Walker’s deep cross.

Northampto­n went fifth following a comfortabl­e 4-0 success against 10-man Southend.

John-Joe O’Toole opened the scoring and Alex Revell doubled the lead from the penalty spot after Jason Demetriou received a straight red for bringing down Paul Anderson. Matty Taylor curled in a wonderful free-kick before Anderson sealed the win.

Bolton fell to third after playing out a goalless draw at home to fourthplac­ed Bradford.

Ian Henderson scored a stoppage-time penalty to help Rochdale complete a 3-2 comeback win and leave Millwall without a win in three matches.

Callum Camps put Rochdale in front but an Aidan O’Brien strike and Lee Gregory penalty gave Millwall the lead at the break. Calvin Andrew levelled for the visitors before Ben Thompson saw red.

Port Vale stay in the top six but fell to a 2-1 defeat to Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Ground.

Jermaine Easter scored the winner from a 63rd minute penalty.

Ryan Colclough scored a hat-trick to help MK Dons to a 4-1 win over Fleetwood.

Gillingham came from behind to beat winless Coventry by the same scoreline while Swindon won 2-0 at Oldham.
