‘MY CAREER HAS RUINED CHANCE OF ROMANCE’

-

OLLY Murs fears he’s too obsessed with his pop career to get married and have kids. The You Don’t Know Love singer, 32, is worried work could stop him finding true love and settling down. But despite admitting that his career led to a break up with ex Francesca Thomas, Olly told me how pop pal Robbie Williams gives him hope of his own happy ending as Rob found love in his thirties with Ayda Field. Olly said: “If I wasn’t famous and still working in the call centre I definitely think I would be married with kids. “It was incredibly hard breaking up with my ex because I did think she was the one I was going to marry. “We were together for over three years and you can’t be with someone that long without thinking about spending the rest of your lives together and having kids. “But we broke up because you get to the point in a relationship when you need to take it to the next level and we didn’t, probably because of my career and my job.”

Olly has penned an honest break-up song on new album 24 HRS called Flaws, where he admits his part of the blame.

He said: “After the relationship I realised there’s a few things I need to address and change moving forward.

“One of those is I can’t be so obsessed with work for the next person that walks into my life.

“Underneath the smiles I show to the world, I feel like I’m living half a life sometimes.

“This song is about me speaking to my ex and holding my hands up and admitting I have flaws and admitting my fault in the relationship ending. It’s about her moving on and me living with the mistakes I made.”

But the Murs Army don’t need to feel too sorry for the multi-million album seller.

He added: “Robbie is like my inspiration. He didn’t marry and have kids until he was about 37 so I have a bit of time yet.”

Olly’s new single Grow Up is out now. His fifth album 24 HRS is released November 11.
