His victory on Britain’s Got Talent won him a spot on the bill for the prestigious event.

During a visit to the Daily Star Sunday offices, Richard hinted he’s convinced Prince Harry or Prince Charles to be part of his act.

He said: “It’s not been announced who will be there from the royal family… I’m not really allowed to say but I’ve got a rough idea. If it’s Prince Harry he’s up for getting involved.

“He’s really fun so I’m hoping he’ll actually get on stage. And then if it’s Prince Charles he’s a member of the Magic Circle, so he will want to get involved with a bit of luck.”

Richard, 26, won the BGT final in May after pulling off a military-themed act that told the story of war veteran and magician Fergus Anckorn.

Prince Harry and Richard met when Army man Richard helped at the Invictus Games earlier this year.

He said: “I’ve met him since the final and he said he’d seen my act. He said he watches Britain’s Got Talent but missed the final so caught up with my EXCLUSIVE ED GLEAVE TV Editor performance on YouTube and said he enjoyed it. He was in the Household Cavalry, which is the same regiment I’m in.” Richard will join some of Britain’s top entertainers at the Variety Performance at London’s Eventim Apollo Hammersmith on December 6. It will later be shown on ITV. Richard said: “I don’t like to think of myself being nervous. I want to be excited. That’s a much better frame of mind. “But knowing I am likely to have a member of the royal family on stage with me ups the pressure a little bit.” Richard was the first magician to win BGT. He said: “I always try to put inspirational stories into my magic because it makes it so much more emotive and powerful.” Richard is working on a string of projects including a recent campaign with Trainline that saw him magic tickets away to promote their mobile ticketing app. He wowed the Daily Star Sunday team at our offices with a string of card tricks that left us all baffled.
