PADDY MADDEN fired a first-half double as Scunthorpe maintained their three-point lead at the top by beating Swindon 4-1.

Madden got the opener for Graham Alexander’s side in the 15th minute and struck again in before half-time, either side of Duane Holmes and Kevin van Veen goals. Nathan Thompson netted for Swindon.

Bolton remain in second thanks to their fifth straight league win as they swept aside Port Vale 3-1.

Zach Clough (right), Josh Vela and Lawrie Wilson all scored inside the first 16 minutes before Sam Hart headed in for Vale.

Bradford stay in third after James Hanson’s late double saw them hit back to win 3-2 at AFC Wimbledon.

Jordy Hiwula’s early goal was cancelled out by Tom Elliott before half-time and Lyle Taylor converted a penalty for the home side.

But Hanson equalised from the spot and headed the winner in the second minute of time added on.

Sheffield United ensured victories for all of the top four sides with a 2-1 home win against managerles­s MK Dons.

Stefan Scougall’s opener gave the Blades the lead and after Darren Potter had equalised, Billy Sharp sealed the victory.

Tom Nichols’ late winner clinched Peterborou­gh a 2-1 victory at Bristol Rovers.

Northampto­n held on to make it back-to-back league victories with a 3-2 home win against Bury. Rochdale clinched a 1-0 derby win against Oldham thanks to Matty Lund. Erhun Oztumer rescued a point for Walsall in a 1-1 draw against Coventry, who led through Andy Rose. Ashley Hunter struck the winner for Fleetwood in a 2-1 home victory against Gillingham.

Stephen McLaughlin ensured Southend got a point in a 1-1 draw against Shrewsbury, who had taken a first-half lead through Adam El-Abd.

Lee Novak’s header clinched Charlton a 1-0 win against Chesterfie­ld.

Steve Morison’s 25-yard volley helped Millwall to a 2-1 win at Oxford. Liam Sercombe gave Oxford the lead but Morison pulled Millwall level and Aiden O’Brien struck the winner.
