PLYMOUTH remain four points clear at the top after a 2-1 win against Colchester.

Craig Tanner gave the leaders a 16th-minute lead but the U’s were level after 31 minutes through Craig Slater’s free-kick.

After a 10-minute delay for an injury to referee Kevin Johnson, Argyle took the lead when Colchester goalkeeper Sam Walker’s attempted clearance hit Ryan Donaldson and looped in.

Second-placed Carlisle remain unbeaten following a 3-1 victory against Crawley.

Jabo Ibehre headed in to break the deadlock in the fifth minute and Jason Kennedy doubled the Cumbrians’ lead.

Crawley grabbed a consolatio­n through Mark Connolly.

Doncaster, who started the day third, lost ground as they were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Wycombe.

Matt Bloomfield gave the Chairboys the lead with an acrobatic finish but Rovers were leading at the break as Tommy Rowe turned in the equaliser and John Marquis fired home after 40 minutes.

Bloomfield hauled Wycombe level with 12 minutes remaining.

Luton’s Christian Walton saved a penalty as they drew 0-0 at Notts County while 10-man Portsmouth held on for a 1-0 win at Cambridge.

Conor Chaplin (below) headed Pompey into the lead in the 24th minute but Amine Linganzi was sent off with half an hour remaining for a two-footed lunge on Conor Newton. Graham Westley secured his first win as Newport boss with a 3-1 win at Accrington. Barnet came from two goals down to beat 10-man Hartlepool 3-2.

Leyton Orient dropped into the bottom two as first-half goals from George Cooper and Harry Davis earned Crewe a 2-0 win, while Exeter scored three in the opening 45 minutes to win 3-0 at Morecambe.

Kyle Vassell scored twice to earn Blackpool a 2-2 draw at Cheltenham, while Harry McKirdy gave Stevenage a 2-1 win at Mansfield. Yeovil were held to a goalless draw by Grimsby.
